Capt.Idaka changes the name of his company to "Toko Kaiun Kaisha, Ltd." and relocates the head office to Kobe, Hyogo Prefecture. "Toko Maru", its first own vessel, is completed.

Toko Line transports ores from New Caledonia and iron ore from Goa, India to Japan. Taking advantage of the services, it breaks into the oceangoing shipping business.
